I trained at Altitude Athletic Training in preparation for my Kilimanjaro climb, and it made a measurable difference in how my body handled altitude. We did structured hypoxic sessions simulating up to 20,000 feet, and I committed to it consistently in the lead-up to the trip. By the time I landed in Tanzania, I felt calm about the altitude instead of anxious. On summit night, while others were really struggling, I felt steady, controlled, and confident in my breathing. That doesn’t happen by accident. The team was knowledgeable, encouraging, and genuinely invested in the process. They took the time to explain what was happening physiologically and why the training mattered. It wasn’t gimmicky. It was intentional. I summited Kilimanjaro via the 8-day Lemosho route and genuinely believe this training played a significant role in how well I acclimatized. If you’re serious about altitude goals, this is worth it. Grateful for the support.
